# Setting Up Email on iPhone and Android

You can access your KapsuleHost email on any smartphone using [IMAP](https://support.kapsulehost.com/en-nz/email-imap-vs-pop3). This guide covers setup for the built-in iOS Mail app and the Gmail app on Android.

### Your IMAP and SMTP Settings

| IMAP Security | SSL/TLS |
| SMTP Server | `mail.kapsulehost.com` |
| SMTP Port | 465 |

| Username | Your full email address |
| Password | Your mailbox password |

> **Note:** Your mailbox password is set when you [create the mailbox](https://support.kapsulehost.com/en-nz/setting-up-your-mailbox) in KPanel. It is separate from your KPanel account password. You can reset it under **Mailboxes** in KPanel.

### Setting Up on iPhone (iOS Mail)

1. Open **Settings** on your iPhone
2. Scroll down and tap **Mail**, then **Accounts**
3. Tap **Add Account**
4. Choose **Other**, then **Add Mail Account**
5. Enter your name, email address, password, and a description
6. Tap **Next**
7. Select **IMAP** at the top
8. Under **Incoming Mail Server**, enter:
   - Host Name: `mail.kapsulehost.com`
   - Username: your full email address
   - Password: your mailbox password
9. Under **Outgoing Mail Server**, enter the same host name, username, and password
10. Tap **Next**, then **Save**

> **Tip:** If iOS asks you to confirm that the certificate is trusted, tap **Accept**. This is expected on first setup.

### Setting Up on Android (Gmail App)

1. Open the **Gmail** app
2. Tap your profile picture in the top right, then **Add another account**
3. Choose **Other**
4. Enter your KapsuleHost email address and tap **Next**
5. Choose **Personal (IMAP)**
6. Enter your mailbox password and tap **Next**
7. For incoming server settings, enter:
   - Server: `mail.kapsulehost.com`
   - Port: `993`
   - Security type: **SSL/TLS**
8. Tap **Next**
9. For outgoing server settings, enter:
   - Server: `mail.kapsulehost.com`
   - Port: `465`
   - Security type: **SSL/TLS**

### Troubleshooting

**"Cannot connect to server" errors**
Double-check that you have entered `mail.kapsulehost.com` exactly, with the correct ports (993 for IMAP, 465 for SMTP).

**Authentication failed**
Make sure you are using your full email address as the username, and the mailbox password rather than your KPanel login password.
